The use of Ultrasound in medical practice has greatly aided the ability to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions in patients.

Ultrasound is a convenient and inexpensive way to confirm a diagnosis by your treating doctor. It can be used quickly to diagnose and treat:

  • Thickened tendon vs ruptured tendon
  • Tendon inflammation (Colour Doppler)
  • Avulsions of bone (fracture)
  • The presence of inflamed bursae
  • Fluid in joints
  • Haematoma in muscles (corks)
  • Neuroma (Morton’s Neuroma)
Ultrasound is extremely useful in guided injections into tendons, bursa and joints. Accuracy is heightened when the tip of the needle is placed into tissue under ultrasound guidance. Improved accuracy with ultrasound ultimately improves the effectiveness of injection therapy. Studies show superior results in treatment with ultrasound guided injections. Small and large joints of the body can be identified and injected same day in our rooms. Tendon treatments can be assessed and monitored under direct ultrasound vision.

  • Platelet Rich Plasma
  • Cortisone injections
  • Prolotherapy
  • Hydrodilatation of joints
