Customised orthotics
In conjunction with findings from your Podiatrists comprehensive assessment and video gait analysis, customised orthotics are often prescribed for the management of foot and lower limb injuries. Orthotics are used to correct biomechanical abnormalites and off-load pressures when poor biomechanics and / or poor pressure distribution have caused a lower limb injury.
Injuries such as Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, sesamoiditis, patello-femoral pain syndrome, shin pain, Sever's disease, Morton's neuroma, ankle pain, tired/aching feet, bunions and heel spurs, are some common conditions treated with orthotics.
Our Podiatrists use a 3D digital scanner to obtain an accurate model of your foot which then is paired with a customised prescription based on your biomechanics, your injury, your footwear and your sporting needs. For running, walking and sports, a customised orthotic provides shock absorption, proprioception, support and stability, whilst allowing for normal levels of foot and lower limb motion. Orthotics are often used in conjunction with a stretching and strengthening program.
