Georgette Stephens - Sports Massage Therapist

Georgette Stephens is a qualified Remedial and Sports Massage therapist who has been apart of Sydney Sports Medicine Centre for 4 years now. She is currently a Massage therapist at the successful Sydney Swans AFL football club. She works and travels with the team during the AFL premiership seasons. Georgette is also a qualified sports trainer specialising in AFL. She also works with NSW Institute of Sport athletes particularly in Swimming and Athletics. Georgette is a member of the Australian Association of Massage Therapists.

Georgette has worked specifically at National Swimming meets and in Athletics camps around the Country. She has worked on professional Dancers, Hockey Players, Netballers, Cyclists, Rugby players and Tennis players. Her highlights were being a part of the Sydney Swans Grand Finals in the 2005/ 2006 seasons. Also working back stage for the American band ‘Kings of Leon’’ in their Sydney Tour treating the drummer prior to their performance.

She is also able to work well with the general population to enable everyone to enjoy a higher quality of life. Her massage treatments use a variety of techniques which enable her to work with clients of all ages, fitness levels and occupations. Strategies are available for both acute and chronic pain.

Georgette will also soon be a fully qualified Pilates Instructor. She has taken a strong interest in one’s development of core stability and strength. This then reduces the risk of many types of common injuries. Pilates teaches body awareness, good posture whilst improving flexibility, agility, strength and economy of movement. It can even help alleviate back pain. Georgette is drawing from this new knowledge to improve her massage treatments along with her skills of Dry Needling/Acupuncture used if the client requests or when needed.

Georgie has an interest in all sports as she has herself been involved in various styles of Dancing, netball, athletics and now Pilates. She enjoys working closely with the top Sports Physicians, Physiotherapists and other health professionals involved in her work environments.
