Nicole is an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Accredited Nutritionist and Sports Dietitian with the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA) and Sports Dietitians Australia (SDA). Since graduating from the University of Sydney, Nicole has worked in a range of settings, including research, clinical practice and at an executive committee level.
Nicole has an extensive background in the corporate sector and in chronic disease management, including obesity, heart disease, high cholesterol, diabetes, hypertension and osteoporosis.
Nicole completed her Masters Research Project at the RPAH Allergy Unit, investigating the nutritional adequacy of the RPAH Elimination Diet, and has experience in food allergy & intolerance and digestive health, including irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis and coeliac disease. Other clinical experience includes weight management, diabetes, insulin resistance, polycystic ovarian syndrome, hypertension, heart disease, general healthy eating.
Nicole has a special interest in making weight in sport as well as endurance nutrition. She is a qualified ISAK Level 1 accredited practitioner in skin fold measures. Nicole enjoys working with a wide variety of clients, from the general public to recreational and professional sports people to junior athletes and their families. More recently, she has worked with the NSW Elite Gymnastics Boys Team, members of the NSW State Men’s Hockey Team and participants in the OXFAM 100km Trailwalker.
Nicole has a strong commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice and currently assists with obesity research at Westmead Hospital.
Personally, Nicole has always been a keen runner, having competed at a regional level in cross-country running in her youth. More recently, Nicole has completed six half marathons and more than five City to Surf 14km races. She is a surf lifesaver with bronze medallion; crewman’s and advanced resuscitation qualifications. In her spare time, Nicole enjoys participating in up to four yoga classes per week. She aspires to complete the New York Marathon in 2015.
