Kate Leslie - Physiotherapist

Kate Leslie graduated from Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney in 2004, following completing a degree in Exercise and Sports science at Sydney University in 2000. Kate has been working at Sydney sports Medicine centre since 2006, and has extensive experience in biomechanics and exercise prescription.

Currently Kate is the Physio for the NSW Breakers women’s cricket and is involved with the Australian women’s cricket teams. Kate has a keen interest and involvement with the NSWIS tennis program and players from the WTA tour. Furthermore for the past six years, Kate has been actively involved in elite and club level NSW woman’s artistic gymnastics.

Kate has been involved with lecturing to coaching and official staff regarding injury management and prevention in the growing athlete. Recently Kate has played an integral part in the development and delivery of “Active Control” stability classes currently running at Sydney Sports Medicine centre, with a particular focus on function and injury prevention.

Kate’s areas on interest include hip dysfunction and post surgical rehabilitation; the Lumbo-pelvic-thoracic complex and related hip, back and groin dysfunction; instability about many joints; and the relationship to exercise and core control, especially in the sporting population; the pre and post natal population; and injury prevention in children and adolescents. Special interest lie in Tennis and Gymnastic related injuries. Outside work Kate endeavors to keep fit with regular exercise, participates in club level tennis, and continues to “attempt” to surf and enjoys riding her road bike.
